Autonomous UAS flight trial

Blue Bear Research Systems and the EDGE UK recently demonstrated an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) flight trial exercise. Using a police scenario, the demonstration showed a suspect being tracked by the UAS and then subsequently apprehended by police on the ground.

The Blue Bear Research Systems and the EDGE UK collaborative project demonstrated an autonomous flight trial, which used the Blue Bear Blackstart UAS, General Dynamics UK’s Compact Modular Computer (CMC) and a remote HQ that was hosted in the EDGE UK. The CMC, which is designed to be flight certifiable, hosted the flight tracking algorithm that enabled the UAS to track the suspect on the ground.
